- No, Mac disks are formatted in concentric circles, too. The difference
- is that the Mac drive changes the speed that the disk rotates as the
- head moves in and out, thus keeping the speed that the media moves past
- the head approximately constant. This means that you can record more
- sectors on the longer outer tracks than on the shorter inner tracks and
- that's where the extra capacity comes from.
