- Ivan, Please go to comp.os.linux and read the FAQ when it appears there.
- It is posted about every week. You can run X windows on your system, but
- it would be very slow and probably not worth it.

- I am on a 386/25, with 8 megs of RAM, and X win was fast.. But picture
- viewing (gif, jpg, etc) was slow because of all the overhead. It just
- takes too long. 20 seconds to view a 640x480x256 GIF! With a 486 this
- time is trimmed to 5 seconds.

- That's just my experience, I may have had it configured poorly (doubt it).

- They recommend at least 8 megs of RAM for x win. If you want to just peddl
- with the unix like utils, 2 meg may be enough. But for compiling you need
- at least 4 megs.
