  14. I recently purchased Superstor v2.  After compressing my hard drive with it,
  15. I could not get the computer to boot from the hard drive or the emergency
  16. floppy they tell you to make.  I kept getting a "protection error".
  17. After playing phone tag with Addstor's tech support I finally got a solution
  18. and thought I'd share it, since from what the tech support guy said, I think
  19. this would affect anyone who uses it with DRDos 5.0.

  21. Apparently there is a minor incompatability.  I don't think it is even
  22. possible to make a mountable disk, but don't quote me on that.

  24. In order to get a Superstor fixed disk to boot with DRDos 5.0, after you
  25. install it and compress the disk, you must boot with a regular floppy, NOT
  26. the emergency one with Superstor on it.  Find the DRDos disk that has the
  27. "attrib.com" file and insert it in drive a:.
  28. At the A> prompt type:  attrib c:sspartss.swp -h -s -r
  29. then type:  ren c:sspartss.swp sspartss.add
  30.  
  31. Now remove the disk on hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and it should boot correctly from
  32. the hard disk.
