- We recently upgraded our network DrawPerfect program to WordPerfect's new
- WP Presentations - so far I am NOT impressed. The features available in
- the program look great but I've had nothing but trouble trying to get it
- installed. After several days and several reinstalls everything seemed
- pretty stable except that trying to print anything to a network printer
- either caused the PC to hang or printed only parts of the document.
-
- After calling WP support, I was told that the program needs 180K free
- conventional memory after WPP is loaded in order to print - I have
- 526K free before loading WPP (and that's after unloading non-essentials)
- but after loading WPP there is only 129K free - almost 400K for this
- program! (My 12Mb of extended memory doesn't seem to matter...WPP
- recognizes it but evidently doesn't use it for printing.) So I guess
- unless our network users have about 580K free AFTER the network software
- is loaded WPP isn't going to print... and according to the support rep
- that have no plans to change this...
-
- Has anyone else tried this program on a network? I'm ready to heave it
- in the nearest trashcan at this point...
