- I would like to hear the solution of this problem from all of you out there...
- I have the problem myself, and I have seen people post about having this
- problem, but no solutions ever come around. Was this fixed in SLS99p2? I
- am waiting to upgrade my system to that, but it won't happen yet for a couple
- more days... (time is limitted right now).
-
- There are three problems that come from the above:
-
- 1) The ^M appears at the end of "login:" and "password:" requiring
- the use of Control-J to accept both the login and password.
-
- 2) The tcpip/network stuff eventually freezes up after a certain
- time period which prevents *anyone* from telnetting/rloggin into
- the system... the system is still running, and you can telnet *out*
- of the system, but not *into* the system. (Incedentally, when you
- telnet *out* of the system, it actually fixes the problem for awhile
- and you can then telnet *into* the system again...) Someone actually
- suggested that the telnetd daimon was going to sleep...
-
- 3) When either telnetting into or out of the system, the connection will
- close itself quite frequently... which makes life very difficult when
- you can't even finish running a program!
-
- Solutions anyone?
-
- Thanks,
- Scott.
