- This will probably seem like a foolish question to those hackers out
- there but.. here goes.
-
- I'm trying to install tcp/ip to my linux system. I am running Linux
- version 0.99 with TCP compiled into the kernel. I don't have an
- ethernet card yet, so am acting as a single host.
-
- I ftped the tcpip-0.8.tar.Z from the sunsite/tsx and tried installing
- it. I believe I followed all the directions correctly and put the files
- into the appropriate directories. However, on bootup, after running the
- rc.local file in /etc, when it reaches "named" it says something like:
-
- Jan 12 03:36:18 named[84]: restarted
- Jan 12 03:36:18 named[84]: /usr/etc/inet/named.boot: No such file or directory
-
-
- The problem is that I can't seem to find this "named.boot" file anywhere.
- It didn't come with with the tcpip package and can't seem to be located
- from other tcp bundles either.
-
- Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
