- The way fastback did it (like many other backup programs, including one I wrote
- many moons ago) was to keep hitting the drive - they also increased the
- motor 'on' time. I don't believe that one can turn the drive select light
- on and off without spinning the motor.

- Perhaps you could do a "test drive ready" (BIOS INT 13, service 10), but I
- don't know if that woul stop the drive from spinning. And, of course, you can't
- use the "diskette change line status" because not all mfrgrs hook it up.
