  15. We got the error message described in the subject heading when we try to
  16. boot a rawritten A1 disk on a following system:
  17.  
  18.     - 486-33 EPS Technologies w/ ETAQ mother board (in hardware list)
  19.     - MR (Microid Research BIOS -- assume to be in the list?)
  20.     - 16 Meg
  21.     - 2 Maxtor IDE hard drives (LXT213 and M7213A)
  22.     - 1.2M and 1.44M Floppies
  23.     - NEC 5FGX w/ ATI Ultra
  24.     - SB
  25.     - Mountian 60 meg tape drive
  26.     - HP ScanJet
  27.  
  28. The actual message is:

  30. Kernel Panic: Unable to initailize buffer free list!
  31. In swapper task - not syncing.
  32.  
  33. The rawritten A1 BOOTS with no problem on my machine (GW2000 486-33 4M RAM
  34. and so... and so....).

  36. Would someone please point out where to look for help?  Any type of readings
  37. would be okay, so long as it is not to technical.  I have read many faqs and
  38. info-sheets about this but at a clueless point.
