- We got the error message described in the subject heading when we try to
- boot a rawritten A1 disk on a following system:
-
- - 486-33 EPS Technologies w/ ETAQ mother board (in hardware list)
- - MR (Microid Research BIOS -- assume to be in the list?)
- - 16 Meg
- - 2 Maxtor IDE hard drives (LXT213 and M7213A)
- - 1.2M and 1.44M Floppies
- - NEC 5FGX w/ ATI Ultra
- - SB
- - Mountian 60 meg tape drive
- - HP ScanJet
-
- The actual message is:
-
- Kernel Panic: Unable to initailize buffer free list!
- In swapper task - not syncing.
-
- The rawritten A1 BOOTS with no problem on my machine (GW2000 486-33 4M RAM
- and so... and so....).
-
- Would someone please point out where to look for help? Any type of readings
- would be okay, so long as it is not to technical. I have read many faqs and
- info-sheets about this but at a clueless point.
-
- I hope that my message is a legitimate, acceptable and does not cause any
- problem with readers of this group.
-
- Many thanks in advance,
- Tee
