- Subject: Is there a policy on posting binaries to ftp sites?
- Lines: 16
-
- I've compiled a few X11 client binaries from export.lcs.mit.edu and they
- have so far compiiled cleanly with a simple xmkmf and then make. Are they
- worth putting up for ftp since they compile right out of the box or should I
- simply note that they can be compiled right out of the box without changes?
-
- The two programs I've compiled so far (xpaint2pl1, a MacPaint like paint
- program, and Xpostit, a post-it note program) aren't very complex, but might
- be useful anyway.
-
- another reason to consider this is that now since Linux is at the point
- where most of the major changes are done and it is better supported, more
- and more software will port cleanly. I think it might be a good idea to get
- a policy ready, especially as 1.0 nears.
-
- So, if there is agreement, I'll do as agreed upon.
