- Hello,
- I just decided to have an old 286er working as Terminal for Linux.
- I edited /etc/inittab to use ttys2 as 38400 baud line.
- All works fine, as long as I have my terminal up.
- But when the cable is out or the 286 powered off, the status
- lines (DTR, CTS and so on) are in "not ready" state.
- Then the init-process consumes 8% to 24% of my CPU time.
- When the lines are "ready", init lives at 0.1% CPU time.
- I hear that there is a "timeout" option for getty, but I have no
- man page. Can anyone tell me how to tell init to disable ttys2
- after one minute or so?
- Thanks in advance
