  12. I just had another one of those perenial requests to use zip
  13. instead of compress for SLS.  Of course the answer is no.
  14. And that is not why I am writing this.

  16. I wish someone would write a compression program that does
  17. block compression.  My thinking is then we could look at
  18. allowing mounting of these compressed files (who needs
  19. a compressed file system?).

  21. Also, a while back someone posted a shell script that drove
  22. cpio to do multivolume backups, with compression (it was
  23. a long time ago).  Does anyone have such a beast?
