- I just had another one of those perenial requests to use zip
- instead of compress for SLS. Of course the answer is no.
- And that is not why I am writing this.

- I wish someone would write a compression program that does
- block compression. My thinking is then we could look at
- allowing mounting of these compressed files (who needs
- a compressed file system?).

- Also, a while back someone posted a shell script that drove
- cpio to do multivolume backups, with compression (it was
- a long time ago). Does anyone have such a beast?
