- This had been a common occurance on my machine for quite some time.
- It was related to my Maxtor 7213at drive that I had. Apparently,
- you need a PCBA of at least 63 to use linux (this is some number on
- printed on the drive). I had this version, and I still have problems.

- I called maxtor, and they sent me a new prom. I just put it in recently,
- and the problems have completely disappeared. Free of charge.
- Maxtor has redeemed themselves in my eyes, and now have a lifelong
- customer.
