  26. This had been a common occurance on my machine for quite some time.
  27. It was related to my Maxtor 7213at drive that I had.  Apparently,
  28. you need a PCBA of at least 63 to use linux (this is some number on
  29. printed on the drive).  I had this version, and I still have problems.

  31. I called maxtor, and they sent me a new prom.  I just put it in recently,
  32. and the problems have completely disappeared.  Free of charge.
  33. Maxtor has redeemed themselves in my eyes, and now have a lifelong
  34. customer.
