- Until relatively recently, Coherent was a clone of *V7* Unix. Needless to
- say (I do hope! --Perhaps V7 is unknown to anyone except us old fogies
- nowadays) most modern programs require features missing from that ancient
- system.

- Recent Coherent claims to support at least SVR2 (still rather ancient, these
- days) and 4.0 almost has to support SVR3.2 to some extent in order to run
- SCO binaries. But it still lacks (next version is claimed to have)
- networking (sockets) and graphics.

- (and no, I'm *not* a Coherent evangelist! I'm just trying to set the facts
- somewhat straighter than they have been so far. Which is not to say that
