- Hello, world.
-
- I am currently running Coherent 4.0 on my home machine (generic 486/33 with
- 200 MB IDE drive). I'd like to install and start playing with Linux, as
- Coherent has some shortcomings as of this release (4.0.0). I've obtained
- the SLS package from ftp.uu.net, and have taken it up to the point where
- it wants to mkfs on my disk. I'd like to wipe out my DOS partition, and
- put Linux there. According to fdisk, this is possible. However, before I
- go ahead and DO it, I thought I'd ask if anyone has had any difficulties
- with this. Will fdisk respect the start and stop cylinder positions of
- my DOS partition, and not do anything to my Coherent partition? I'd hate
- to wipe *everything* out.
-
- If you've done this, and been successful or not, please mail me at either
- of the addresses below.
-
- Tan(Q).
