  12. I have some problems with compiling kernel from Linux 0.99p2. I'd installed
  13. SLS 0.98p5 just one month ago and was able to recompile the kernel to get
  14. the German keyboard work. Yesterday I downloaded the new kernel (0.99p2)
  15. from nic.funet.fi. I chnaged the makefile and did make config, make dep and
  16. make clean. Then I started make all. All worked fine until the file
  17. tty_io.c in /linux/kernel/chr_drv was to compile. After a few minutes the
  18. compilation goes in an endless loop (I think). The HD/lamp blinks once a second
  19. and I interrupted after about one hour. Then I changed the Makefile in 
  20. /kernel/chr_drv. I changed tty_io with tty_ioctl. Now tty_ioctl is compiled
  21. but with the next file, console.c, I had the same problem mentioned before.
  22. Please HELP !!
