- Hello verybody,
- I'm quite new to the linux world, sine I only bought my
- 486DX33 yesterday.
- One of the reasons I bought it was to run Linux.
- The system was supposes to come equipped with a Trident 8900C
- video card, and I read that I could use that Trident card for
- Linunx with X.
- But instead it was equipped with an Oak 077 SVGA (1 MB) card.
- My questions are these:
- - Can I run Linux/X with this card and how?
- What XConfig to use etc.?
- - If not, why not?
-
- I would greatly appreciate any answers to the questions.
- I don't have much time though to look into this, because if it doesn't
- work I may be able to persuade the shop who sold me the system to trade
- the card for a Trident 8900C card.
- (And in the end I plan to buy myself a Tsenglabs or other
- card, but that is a plan for the future and I don't know when
- that will happen.)
-
- Thnx for any help,
-
