- Well, in fact the line called IRQ2 on the ISA bus is really connected to
- the IRQ9 input of the slave interrupt controller. The slave controller is
- then connected to IRQ2 of the master controller. On old PCs and XTs there
- was no slave controller. Therefore the line called IRQ2 really went to
- the IRQ2 input of the master. But not on ATs and later.

- Therefore if you use the IRQ2 line on the ISA bus, the software should be
- configured to use the IRQ9 vector. Besides: the Linux serial drivers
- cares for this by itself.
