- I have posted to this group several times already. There is a word
- processor called "doc" that works very nicely under Linux (as does the whole
- InterViews package). When Linux 1.0 is out I will upload a new set of binaries
- with a few bug fixes. For now there is a working binary package for doc on
- sunsite in /pub/Linux/Incoming as IVdoc.3.1.tar.Z.
- "doc" is a WYSIWYG document preparation system, that uses TeX algorithms,
- saves data in a LaTeX format, is able to import postscript graphics, and
- outputs in postscript format which you can send directly to your postscript
- printer or use ghostscript ( I use ghostscript ).
- Also, for a spreadsheet, use xspread. It's not as fancy as excel, but its
- a decent spreadsheet for windows, most people would be satisfied with.
-
- "doc" works best with a math chip and the extfs, with the extfs being
- required primarily because of postscript font names, and of course X.
-
- Happy Linuxing!!! Michael Caro.
