- Remember - these are only my opinions regarding Linux & Coherent.
-
- At first I tried Coherent. It looked nice, installed easily, but
- had some problems w/ my SCSI-drive. But then I tried to compile some
- of UNIX sources I've got. NO SUCCESS! I succeeded in compiling only
- really bare-bones software.
-
- Linux: Installation was bit harder, but no problems overall. Only
- annoying thing was that I had to boot from disk - haven't yet
- tried LILO. Compiling of sources was more successfull, and so far
- over 50% of non-Linux sources have worked with only little modifications,
- and some just out-of-the-tar.Z.
-
- Of course Linux has it's problems too, but I recommend it. Free,
- and new versions arrive quite often.
