- I just started using Linux (0.98pl5) and have had good luck with it so
- far; but I'm having problems running X-Windows. I read through the FAQ
- but still can't get it to work. I have a 486DX-40, 5meg RAM, Trident VGA
- card (512K), 105 meg IDE, and a Zeos VGA monitor.
- Do I have enough RAM to get X-Windows running? Is my VGA card "good
- enough" or do I need more memory on it? Do I need more swap space (and
- how do I change it)?
- At first, I got some error messages, but after editing the Xconfig
- file (that came with the distribution), I don't get those errors anymore,
- but the screen goes blank. I can type stuff (say, ls > /dev/lp1) and it
- works, but I can't see it. I also checked the /etc/termcap file to make
- sure everything is there. Anyone have clues? Please help..! Thanks
- to all in advance!
