- I am a DOS person just getting introduced to UNIX and liking it! I
- would like to put some version of UNIX on my 486/DX along with DOS
- and OS/2 that live there now. (They don't necessarily need to
- co-exist if thats not possible).

- I don't want to pay $1,000 or more for the system as I would have
- to for most commercial versions.
- However I can manage the $99 for Coherent. So the free versus the
- $99 in Coherent versus Linux is not an issue as far as I am
- concerned. What I wouls appreciate is a comparison of the two
- systems, features, tools, ease of use, compatibility, support etc.
- In particular the ability to use standard unix stuff intended for
- the commercial UNIX's found all over the Net.
- How do the two match up? The technical prowess of the two should
- be one of the main focal points of the comparison.
