  12. I  am a DOS person just getting introduced to UNIX and liking it! I
  13.  would like to put some version of UNIX on my 486/DX along with DOS
  14.  and OS/2 that live there now. (They don't necessarily need to
  15.  co-exist if thats not possible).

  17.  I don't want to pay $1,000 or more for the system as I would have
  18.  to for most commercial versions.
  19.  However I can manage the $99 for Coherent. So the free versus the
  20.  $99 in Coherent versus Linux is not an issue as far as I am
  21.  concerned. What I wouls appreciate is  a comparison of the two
  22.  systems, features, tools, ease of use, compatibility, support etc.
  23.  In particular the ability to use standard unix stuff intended for
  24.  the commercial UNIX's found all over the Net.
  25.  How do the two match up? The technical prowess of the two should
  26.  be one of the main focal points of the comparison.
