  12.    Ok.  Firstly, I would like to thank you ALL who have helped me
  13. get my linux system up.  It's finally working properly, well, at least
  14. 95% of it, I think.   Special thanks to those who have been VERY
  15. patient with me.

  17.    Anyway,  two minor stuff, I'd like to get cleared up.

  19.     1) What is a "KDSETMODE KD_GRAPHICS failed" error?  I decided
  20.        to run 'startx' tonight and like it choked and gave me the
  21.        following error:-

  25.        Fatal server error:
  26.        KDSETMODE KD_GRAPHICS failed.

  28.        What does this mean?

  30.     2) This isn't actually a problem.  Wow, what a change eh?
  31.        But like, for the command 'compress', right.  Well,
  32.        what's the minimum filesize that it would actually compress?
  33.        I was fiddling with compress last night and like I made 
  34.        a test file of  16 bytes..  And ran compress on it.  Nothing
  35.        happened.   So can I make an assumption that compress won't
  36.        compress anything under, just say, 100 bytes?  This is only
  37.        an inquiry.   It's not mentioned in the FAQ and I'm just
  38.        curious about it, because 'compress' and 'uncompress' failed
  39.        to run in Linux 0.98pl5.  Compress choked and core dumped.

  41.   PS: Planning to install LILO, so probably, there might be a few
  42.       questions coming up from me....

  44.   PPS: I'M just joking..sheesh...  please.. no flames..  just a
  45.        slight humor.. :)
