- Oops. My editor misfired on the last one.
-
- Now that the Port/AppFAQ is started, I thought about also doing
- another one.
-
- I found that I underestimated the desire for commercial applications
- on Coherent. I guess part of it is that they're hard to find. So
- as a service to my fellow Coherent users, I thought it'd be nice to
- start a Commercial Application/Hardware List (CAppHFAQ). All it will have is
- info from the companies that are producing products for Coherent.
- I don't want it to be an advertising gimmick, just info where you can
- get things.
-
- So, if you or your company is creating or has created an application or
- supports Coherent with its hardware, please feel free to fill out the
- form and I'll put it in the list. *Read the criteria section* since
- I'll be pretty strict about it.
-
- If someone is strongly against this idea, email me: magus@drktowr.chi.il.us
- and we'll talk about it. I know that MWC has a list that it puts
- in its manuals, but this might be more up to date for those that
- have net access.

- Commercial Application/Hardware List for Coherent (CAppHFAQ) Submission Form
-
- Criteria for submission:
- ------------------------
-
- 1) The product must be proven to run on Coherent (any version, but
- you must know for a fact which versions it can run under), and
- you *must* provide support for the Coherent version. If hardware,
- you must provide technical support for installation and use with
- Coherent and the driver code if necessary or be willing to give
- tech support to someone willing to write the driver code *at no
- charge*. This means if someone else wrote the driver, you don't get to
- put your hardware in this list unless both they and you agree to it and
- the driver is publically and freely available.
-
- Basically, I want anything in this list ready-to-go-out-of-the-box.
-
- 2) Pre-release submissions are welcomed, but the product must be
- available within an *estimated* 6 months of the submission. In other
- words, I want to make sure the product won't be dropped before it's
- released.
-
- 3) In your notes section, you are free to give general info about the
- product, but please no landmark or comparisons against other products.
- I'm not reviewing products, just listing them. I have no way
- to test your assertions -- this isn't PC-LABS ;)
-
- 4) You must be empowered by the manufacturer of the product to provide
- public notice about the product. In general, no submissions from end
- users. If you like the product that much, e-mail the form to the
- company and have them fill it out.
-
- 5) *ALL* fields must be filled out except as noted below.
-
- 6) No shareware/freeware products. Those go in the Port/AppFAQ which I
- am also doing.
-
- 7) All submissions will be kept in the list until I receive notice
- from the manufacturer that I should change the info or that
- the product is no longer supported. So if something changes,
- please resubmit a form.
