- Oh my lord, where do I begin? :) It seems that while driving around town, I
- run into a music store every few blocks. They're all over the place. Since
- you are from Canada, I will (maybe incorrectly?) assume you don't know much
- about US music stores - they also carry videos, and video disks. Look in the
- Yellow Pages phone book for: the Wherehouse, Tower Records, Music Plus, and no
- end of smaller boutique stores. From Hotel Circle (where the Town & Country is)
- look for the Mission Valley shopping mall - that's probably the closest. However,
- if you go to University Town Center (north on I-5 to La Joll Village Dr, turn right
- and look for the Nordstroms) you'll find a Wherehouse. There's a Tower Reocrds
- near the Sports Arena near Pt Loma. Go to Hazard Center, next to the Red Lion
- hotel (I-5 and 163 interchange, off Friar's Road east), which is also very close to
- Hotel Circle - there's a Wherehouse there, as well as one of my favorite sports
- bars, Trophy's; a large theater complex; and Tony Roma's if you like BBQ.
-
- These are just a few of the places you can try. The major music stores carry a
- huge array of music and video disks, so you should be able to find imports there.
- There's a boutique store in downtown La Jolla (hard to describe how to get there,
- so I won't - ask the desk people at the hotel) that specializes in non-mainstream
- CDs. Sorry, the name eludes me. Worth looking for though - it's next to the
- Comedy Store.
-
- Have fun!
