- Dear comp.multimedia reader,
-
- I am working on a project where we have 4 ibm mm-machines whith
- os2 2.0 installed (8557-259 system unit with 4Mb memory, XGA display
- and Actionmedia II Display Adapter/A, to be expanded with a
- Video Capture Adapter in the near future).
-
- This came in a package with a lot of software (AVC, Linkway, Storyboard,
- C Set/2, the OS/2 Dev. Toolkit, ActionMedia Dev. Toolkit and Microsoft
- MultiMedia Extensions).
-
- I have been using an authoring tool under DOS (Phoenix from Goal-systems -
- now Legent), but am relatively new to OS/2 and completely new to the
- software mentioned above.
- I have some experience in C, but not in the MM-field.
-
- How about that for an intro ...
-
- Now I have a few questions (of course) :
-
- First, we want to expand the hardware with a VideoDisk player. We're going to
- have a talk with several dealers, and I would like to get some background
- on this first. What are the caveats, are there any specific things I have to
- look out for, any questions I realy have to ask...
-
- Second, is anyone else using the AVC-software? I would like to know the pro's
- and con's before I dive into yet another software package, so I don't have
- to find out about the limitations of this program in the middle of
- development. (I didn't get my say in the software choice, I was thrown
- in when all decisions were made ...)
- Info about the other software is welcome also.
-
- Third, ... well, anything else you would like to tell a Mm-Os2-newbee?
-
- Greetins and thanks for any feedback ...
