  15. We are planning to build a video server, a computer connected to an data
  16. network (i.e. ethernet) and an AV network.  With this box, you can have it
  17. digitize something off of the AV network (e.g. the signal from the camera
  18. on my desk) and write it to disk, or take a clip that is on disk and play
  19. it over the AV network (e.g. to a VCR or the monitor on my desk).

  21. Currently we are planning to build it using an EISA based 486 running UNIX.
  22. Anybody know of any card or set of cards that could meet this requirement?
  23. Preferably a card (EISA or ISA) which which would compress the data before
  24. passing it to the software to be written to disk, or an EISA card that just
  25. provides raw video data.
