- We are planning to build a video server, a computer connected to an data
- network (i.e. ethernet) and an AV network. With this box, you can have it
- digitize something off of the AV network (e.g. the signal from the camera
- on my desk) and write it to disk, or take a clip that is on disk and play
- it over the AV network (e.g. to a VCR or the monitor on my desk).
-
- Currently we are planning to build it using an EISA based 486 running UNIX.
- Anybody know of any card or set of cards that could meet this requirement?
- Preferably a card (EISA or ISA) which which would compress the data before
- passing it to the software to be written to disk, or an EISA card that just
- provides raw video data.
-
- thanx
