- I am not sure this is the correct group to address this to, but
- here goes anyway.
-
- I need to be able to view/play multi-standard Video recordings
- (VHS and LVD) but am not sure what the best way to do this is.
-
- I have been told to use a multistandard TV/Monitor and use
- multistandard VCR and LVD players.
-
- A second alternative is to use a standard NTSC TV/monitor
- but use a VCR/LVD player that does the scan conversion
- automatically.
-
- Yet another proposal I have heard is to attach a scan converter
- to the TV/Monitor and use multistandard players as in the first
- option.
-
- What are the pros/cons of the above approaches. What is the
- best solution to this problem and where can one get multistandard
- hardware. I hear most are grey market products.
-
- Finally, what are the advantages/disadvantages of various formats,
- NTSC/PAL/SECAM/NTSC4.43 and which is expected to yeild the best
- PERCEIVED image quality ?
-
- Thanks,
