- I recently grabbed a copy of deliver v2.0P11 in the hopes that I could
- use it to solve some problems and simplify a few things in our mail
- system. My current work involves moving an email system from our Convex
- machines to a couple of Sun Sparc 1's running SunOS v4.1.1 which is a
- BSD-flavor UNIX.
-
- Unfortunately, there's little documentation with the package, and it's
- definitely Xenix/SYSV-oriented. The only example given that's useful
- to me is one for sendmail where deliver can be executed by a user in
- his/her .forward file. I was hoping more for a local delivery program
- that would handle everything sendmail ends up resolving to the LOCAL
- mailer. We're also looking to do away with .forward files altogether
- to avoid the problem with continually having to mount a user's home
- directory from our mail servers.
-
- Has anyone been able to use deliver in the way I hope to, or do they
- know of another delivery agent program that can do properly locking
- when writing to files? Should I switch to Smail?
-
- My apologies if this isn't very clear. Any help/suggestions are
- appreciated.
