  10. Hello everybody,
  11. I am trying to have sendmail do user-name substitution for the sender's
  12. name in outgoing mail, without having to run NIS.
  13. You can also call it 'reverse aliasing': I would like full human names to
  14. appear in the "From:" field instead of unreadable login-names:

  17. Instead of               "From: jmk@foo.bar.edu"
  18. it should be             "From: John.Kelter@foo.bar.edu"

  20. Is there a way to do this with the standard sendmail coming with SunOS
  21. 4.1, but without using NIS?

  23. My configuration: I am running SunOS 4.1 on a Sparc 1+ with the standard
  24. /usr/lib/sendmail.mx program.
