  13. It doesn't look like 'smail' has it's own group and that comp.mail.sendmail
  14. most probably concerns itself with _only_ sendmail ('natch)...

  18. On the off-shot that it is, I have a small question:

  20. Using smail 3.1.28, my host is _only_ on the Ethernet. But whenever I
  21. look at the full mail headers for stuff received, whereas 'sendmail' would
  22. print something like:

  24.     From user@machine.foo.bar <... the date went here ...>

  26. 'smail' prints:
  27.  
  28.     From machine.foo.bar!user <... as above ...>
  29.  
  30. Now the From: line is correct as is the Return Path:, but why does 'smail'
  31. insist on the ! address-type for From (no colon)? It's a small picky
  32. point and if it _really_ doesn't mean anything I'd be willing to ignore
  33. it, but I'm a bit concerned.
