  36. My sister, who has spent considerable time studying in Paris,
  37. tells me that French bureaucrats are extremely difficult to
  38. work with, especially where foreigners are concerned.  This
  39. applies with extra force where telecoms are concerned.

  41. The most widely-used email system in France is Minitel, run
  42. by their phone company.  Unfortunately I believe it still
  43. lacks Internet connectivity.  If there is a way of reaching
  44. it from Internet somebody should post it!

  46. Your best bet is probably to try and find a person who has
  47. an Internet-reachable email account over there and is willing
  48. to help you.  Ideal method would be a person who has both
  49. Minitel and EARN accounts who would be willing to act as a
  50. gateway...
