  10. Our temporary/permanent arrangement here, sure to send shivers of disgust
  11. to e-mail programmers everywhere, has been to comment out the file 
  12. locking stuff. I'm not a unix programmer, but our temp who has gone on
  13. to bigger and better stuff said the SysV locking is a leap of faith
  14. anyway. So...women, children, and file locking first.

  16. We also inserted a little feature, sure to send serious e-mail programmers
  17. to flubbing their lips with their index fingers,  giving all pop users
  18. the same logins as their uucp system ids. When they are away from their
  19. desks and have only laptops with modems, they can call up and get their
  20. mail that way, when they are at their desks popper scavenges their
  21. /usr/spool/uucp/x...... directory for all of their goodies and appends
  22. it to their popper mailbox when they connect via the network.
