  13. I have to concur that a way to Resend to a different address, but with
  14. the same text, (i.e. Read my lips - no new headers ;-) would be
  15. useful.

  17. My reason is that I attempt to reply to postings from within my
  18. newsreader. But the dark side of NNTP access is that too many netters
  19. now post from boxes with completely bogus From: lines. Then, when mail
  20. bounces, you must grep around in the headers and look for a real
  21. address to Resend it to.

  23. This is also the case with mail to att, for example, where they post
  24. all articles with addresses on cbnews{a-z} & half of my attempts to
  25. THOSE bounce, too ;-{

  27. Now, I can use the Bounce command, but I generally don't want to. Why?
  28. I generally go back and add a sentence pointing out the poster's bogus
  29. From: header. Most go fix them; a minority write back with language of
  30. "I can damm well post with any address I want, bud" or "what do expect
  31. ME to do about it, anyhow?" [at worst, add a Reply-To:, I say]

  33. But given the Elm volunteers are up to their collective compilers with
  34. other things that need doing; I'll understand why this does not appear
  35. for a long time......
