- The installation of tcl/tk is as marvelously well worked out as is the
- code itself, but as a newcomer, I encountered two puzzling minor annoyances
- which I thought worth sharing:
-
- 1) The "make install" process died on a Sun running OS 4.1.X due to the
- presence of calls to "cp -f" in the Makefiles for both tcl and tk,
- due to the lack of a "-f" option to cp in this version of UNIX.
- I had to manually edit these out.
-
- 2) In section 7 of the top-level README in the tk directory, reference is made
- to a subdirectory "scripts/demos" which does not exist in the fresh copy
- of the tk distribution which I just obtained from sprite.berkeley.edu.
- Something like this would really be helpful. Is it hiding elsewhere?
