  13. The installation of tcl/tk is as marvelously well worked out as is the
  14. code itself, but as a newcomer, I encountered two puzzling minor annoyances
  15. which I thought worth sharing:

  17. 1) The "make install" process died on a Sun running OS 4.1.X due to the
  18.    presence of calls to "cp -f" in the Makefiles for both tcl and tk,
  19.    due to the lack of a "-f" option to cp in this version of UNIX.
  20.    I had to manually edit these out.

  22. 2) In section 7 of the top-level README in the tk directory, reference is made
  23.    to a subdirectory "scripts/demos" which does not exist in the fresh copy
  24.    of the tk distribution which I just obtained from sprite.berkeley.edu.
  25.    Something like this would really be helpful.  Is it hiding elsewhere?
