  11. I've tried & tried but I can't figure this one out:

  13. I created an object to write certain commands to
  14. a device over the serial port ('COM2' in this case).
  15. I wrote a little WinCRT program to test the object,
  16. and after a little twiddling, got it to work fine.
  17.  
  18. Now using the same object, except from a windowing program
  19. via a menu-driven procedure, things lock up on me!
  20.  
  21. Is there a conflict somewhere?  Everything else works
  22. robustly when I take out the comm port stuff.
