- i have several .TPUs which i wrote and use fairly often in my interface
- designs. i have been meaning to put these out if other programers,
- especially beginners, might find them useful. here is what they do,
- please let me know if they are of interest and what procedures i need to
- follow to place them into general circulation. i would be happy to ftp
- them to simtel-20 or somewhere if i knew the upload procedure. i have a
- compuserve account if they should be uploaded to some borland area over
- there.
-
- TEXTPAGE -- replaces the monitor routines of CRT with a set
- that can be used to write text in colors to
- nondisplayed text pages in EGA/VGA memories.
- you get 8 text pages which rom bios calls can
- switch between.
-
- JULIAN -- does the standard conversions between julian and
- gregorian dating, days elapsed, etc.
-
- READABLE -- parses text lines into syllables, words, sentences
- and other elements needed for a standard educational
- readability formula. variables can be addressed to
- crudely estimate grade levels of text passed through it.
-
-
- and i may have a few others floating around. i intend to make source
- code available with the intention that others can learn how such
- operations are handled. what is the general feeling about copyrighting
- the source so to protect it for educational uses?
