  12.   i have several .TPUs which i wrote and use fairly often in my interface
  13. designs.  i have been meaning to put these out if other programers,
  14. especially beginners, might find them useful.  here is what they do,
  15. please let me know if they are of interest and what procedures i need to
  16. follow to place them into general circulation.  i would be happy to ftp
  17. them to simtel-20 or somewhere if i knew the upload procedure.   i have a
  18. compuserve account if they should be uploaded to some borland area over
  19. there.

  21.         TEXTPAGE   -- replaces the monitor routines of CRT with a set
  22.                       that can be used to write text in colors to
  23.                       nondisplayed text pages in EGA/VGA memories.
  24.                       you get 8 text pages which rom bios calls can
  25.                       switch between.

  27.         JULIAN    -- does the standard conversions between julian and
  28.                      gregorian dating, days elapsed, etc.
  29.  
  30.         READABLE  -- parses text lines into syllables, words, sentences
  31.                      and other elements needed for a standard educational
  32.                      readability formula.  variables can be addressed to
  33.                      crudely estimate grade levels of text passed through it.

  36.   and i may have a few others floating around.  i intend to make source
  37. code available with the intention that others can learn how such
  38. operations are handled.  what is the general feeling about copyrighting
  39. the source so to protect it for educational uses?
