- DPMI stands for "DOS Protected Mode Interface". The DPMI spec defines services
- which allow protect-mode DOS applications to coexist, and was developed by
- Microsoft, Intel, Lotus, Phar Lap, and about a dozen other companies. DPMI
- addresses some shortcomings of the earlier VCPI (Virtual Control Program
- Interface) spec.
