  12. Just a brief acknowledgement to all respondents to my earlier posting. For
  13. the record, my solution was to craft my own random(), as it were, much along
  14. the lines suggested by David Quarrie - I simply wrote an Eiffel wrapper
  15. around C's drand48(). Finger trouble lost me all the other responses, so I
  16. can't name all names: Thank you, all.
