  12. Due to several requests I uploaded mandzoom.zip to phoenix.oulu.fi
  13. in /pub/incoming, its accompanied with a text file description.
  14. if there are any suggestions of places in the USA that I can put
  15. this thing for anonymous ftp. please let me know.

  17. Here is a short description.

  20. Mandzoom.zip is a FLI animation file of a zoom into
  21. the standard Mandelbrot set.  It incorporates panning,
  22. turning, rotating and zooming, to achieve an interesting
  23. (at least to me) zoom animation.
  24.  
  25. the Fli file decompresses to 2.7 meg, 
  26. the programs used to generate this animation were
  27. Fractint 17.2 by the Stone Soup Group
  28.      to generate the frames
  29. Alchemy 14 (or something)
  30.      to convert the frames to Targa format
  31. DTA (Daves Targa Animator) 
  32.      to make the FLI file 
  33. PKZIP by the guy who wrote it
  34.       to compress it from 2.7 meg to 2 meg "OOOOOOHHHH what an improvement"
