  30. Define viewable format. All the picture viewers I use on my PC allow me to
  31. view JPEGS directly, no need to convert them to GIFs or anything else.

  33. I think one reason that a lot of BBS's don't like JPEG's is that their "cute"
  34. advertisments in the corner of the pictures get mangled by the JPEG compression.
  35.  
  36. BTW, GIFLITE also uses a lossy compression scheme.
