  18. Thre is the misconception that the 16550A & 16550AFN are two diferent
  19. UARTS. They are not! In reality, they are the same. Both function the
  20. same way, i.e., with FIFO buffer. The 16550A is the soft designation.
  21. The 16550AFN is the hard(ware) designation.

  23. But there is one buggy UART. It is the 16550. This UART is with the FIFO
  24. damaged. So, 16550 is bad, but 16550A is good!
