- The Supra internal FM includes circuitry that exceeds the
- capabilities of a 16550. The important characteristic of a 16550
- is it's internal 16 byte receive buffer that helps prevent
- overruns at high baud rates. The Supra 14400 FM has a larger
- buffer than that (I think 100 bytes, but not sure). Discussions
- I've read on Compuserve's Supra forum seem to indicate that the
- internal SFM is superior in this respect to an external modem
- connected to a 16550 based COM port.
