  24. I think both modems are excellent.  Neither modems gets my vote for fax.
  25. USR is great for free firmware upgrades for the life of the modem even
  26. if enhancements are included.  Telebit offers good support for bug fixes
  27. and system integration.  The USR is excellent for real time v.32bis latency
  28. and of course HST support while the WB works just dandy with PEP/TurboPEP
  29. and supports up to 115200 baud.

  31. For dialup SLIP, currently we use USR -- however I would like to try a
  32. AT&T v.32bis modem.  For dialup UUCP, the WB.

  34. I still see WB v.32bis throughput falling about 100cps below that of the
  35. USR modems --- that is one problem I still haven't found an answer for, and
  36. others have reported the same as well..

  38. Maybe the 7.01 proms which I installed last week corrected the 100cps lag
  39. time, I don't know -- does anyone know exactly what 7.01 did?
