  25. if you're wanting to run a BBS, you need waffle.  if you're only looking
  26. at a single-user tail site (i.e., you get a feed but don't feed anyone
  27. else), waffle is probably a bit of an overkill...and it doesn't have a
  28. threaded reader (yet --- I'm told they might be working on one).

  30. if you are a single-user tail site, you might look into UUPC as
  31. suggested above.  for news, check out SNEWS (it's somewhere on
  32. simtel20).  I'm using a hacked up version of SNEWS here, and overall,
  33. it's not a bad program (I still miss trn, though).

  35. there are, of course, problems with snews --- for one, you can't
  36. easily modify the headers (you've got to edit the spool files before
  37. transmission) to, say, re-direct followups to a more appropriate
  38. group....  :-)
