  25. I have a Gateway 2000 386sx 16MHz at home and guesss what? It does the same  
  26. thing to me as well! That is, with a Practical Peripherals SA9600, or Everex  
  27. 2400+ modems it will occassionally just does not respond to the AT command. I  
  28. found that the solution was to get through to the COM port (using kermit or  
  29. whatever) and then type the AT command in CAPITAL LETTERS. I invariably get an  
  30. OK response and everything else is hunky dory.
  31. By the way, has anyone tried using Dialslip on a Gateway? I have found that it  
  32. just doesn't retreive the IP number from the Slip server at all. I'm not sure  
  33. whether this is a problem with Dialslip or the Gateway's serial port.
