- I'm just another "hack" trying to determine the same thing, Ken..
- not an expert.. but I could not find any way to do that from the
- manuals and asking around... (no I didn't call telebit)...
- The only thing I can suggest is to +++ the modem into command mode
- then access S70 and S72 which are the transmit and receive
- modulation rate... they change to reflect the higher line speed...
- After I sweated over this for a while, I chose to ignore the
- differences and use 38400 for ALL "FAST" connections on the worldblazer
- and 19200 on the older trailblazers I'm using........ I have a uugetty
- running (the PD on off the net).. that is fixed up (by a friend of mine)
- to treat modems differently based on a config file on a per modem basis...
- so this is pretty easy.... I plan to convert to taylor
- UUCP to take care of using different rates and different result codes
- on outgoing so I can optimize the throughput on uucp...

- Nope.. not that I know of... the I0 "register request" at the local
- modem is the only one I have seen...
-
- Sorry to have negative info, but I was wondering what you were trying
- to accomplish, therefore the above description of how I'm getting around
- the need to know if the connection is turbo-pep...
