- Your intuition is correct. However, don't bother. Ethernets don't
- need to be grounded to function, as you have found out; indeed, the
- original Ethernet spec specifically prohibited grounding. This got
- changed due to safety concerns... which are really relevant only if
- you're running wiring all over a building. Most Ethernets are not
- grounded.
