  12. The CCITT SG VIII has set new standards for password and polling for
  13. FAX.  This will obviate the problem of somebody else reading your
  14. FAXs.

  16. As well Sony, Marconi, Panasonic and many others are bringing out FAX
  17. answering machines.  These will operate like voice answering machines
  18. - retrive messages remotely, scan for messages, password protection,
  19. print on command, connect to laser printers, LAN, computers etc etc.

  21. These devices are around $300 and will solve many of the basic FAX
  22. security issues.
