- Last year, I bought an Intel SatisFAXtion/200 for my
- Royale 486/33. I couldn't get it to work at all, and was
- referred by the supplier to Intel Tech. Support. They
- were very good, told me that the /200 `didn't work in
- the UK' (no reason given), and offered me a replacement
- of the original SatisFAXtion board. This didn't work
- either, and I discovered that my problem was the lead
- to the phone socket. So I tried the /200 again, as it is a
- far superior piece of kit with MNP5 and V.42 (and only
- half length), and it worked sending both by fax and modem,
- but when someone tried to send to me by either means, the
- phone line went funny (faint ringing sound on the line) and
- didn't recover until I switched the PC off completely.
-
- I really want to use the /200 as it has error-correction and
- compression, so can anyone help me and tell me why it
- doesn't let me receive anything.
-
- BTW, I am still on an analogue exchange; is this the problem?
-
- Thank you for your help,
-
