  15. Okay, now for the question...  I just recently purchased a Digicom Scout+ Fax/Modem
  16. for my Insight 386-33 machine running DOS 5.0...the modem part runs fine, not a
  17. single problem with it...I'm having trouble with the Fax software for it...Bundled
  18. with the Fax/Modem is Delrine's DosFax Lite software...  I *finally* succeeded in
  19. installing DosFax Lite on my system...I had what appeared to be a memory conflict
  20. between DosFax and QEMM - with QEMM installed, DosFax blitzed my CGA display into
  21. never-never land mode...the only way I could get it back to normal was with ye olde
  22. three fingered salute...ctrl-alt-del. Without QEMM I was able to install and run
  23. DosFax (after many hours of trying to figure out just what the !@#$ was going on). So
  24. now that I have it up and running, I can't fingure out *how* to print an incoming fax
  25. to my printer...the manual & program say to do it via VIEW...one little
  26. problem...VIEW IS NOT SUPPORTED for a CGA display!!! I don't want to VIEW the
  27. frigging thing, I want to PRINT the frigging thing!!!! Right now, DosFax Lite is
  28. about 2 inches from the trash can, and will permanently reside there if no one can
  29. tell me how to print a fax when I have a CGA monitor...

  33. If you haven't guessed by now, I got fed up with DosFax Lite and installed BitFax
  34. which I think is *much* better...I was able to send and receive faxes just fine, and
  35. I was able to view the incoming faxes on my CGA display!!! Only one little problem...
  36. I couldn't get the printer driver to work properly with my printer (Panasonic
  37. KX-P1124). The printer itself has worked flawlessly with every other software package
  38. I've used, but when I try to print a Fax, the printer goes into graphics mode (which
  39. it should do), prints most of the page header line, and then starts giving me
  40. continuous form-feeds...I've tried this with several incoming faxes and had the same
  41. results...apparently the printer is dropping out of graphics mode and tries to
  42. interpret the incoming binary data as ASCII characters...the faxes themselves look
  43. fine when I view them on the screen, I just can't get it to reliably print
  44. them...suggestions?

  46. Finally, does *anyone* have any suggestions / recommendations for fax software
  47. packages to run on a 386 class machine running MS-DOS 5.0 ?
